EXPERT INSIGHTS ON:
- Current adoption for Epic capacity, channel
partner's success/selling Epic use cases and momentum deploying Epic
capacity.
- Capacity / pricing trends in aviation end markets and utilization / performance of Epic capacity in aviation environments.
- The pace of Epic adoption, Epic's positioning relative
to competing Ka/Ku based satellite services and gating factors impacting
accelerating demand.
- Satellite pricing trends, the pace of price
compression by end market and outlook for continued compression given HTS
capacity increases.
- Epic's competitive positioning, where it wins / loses
vs. alternative satellite services and the relative value proposition from
Inmarsat, Avanti and O3b among others.
- Companies:
Intelsat (I), Inmarsat (ISAT), SES (SESG), Viasat (VSAT)
Dramatic increases in HTS capacity
through 2020 are expected to put significant downward pressure on capacity
pricing and satellite fill rates going forward. As such, satellite operators
launching HTS constellations such as Intelsat & Inmarsat trade down
roughly 75% and 35% YTD respectively amid speculation that the market won't be
able to support appropriate satellite IRRs. While significant capacity
increases signal falling prices, falling prices could lead to a significant
increase in capacity demand depending on operators' and VARs' ability to market
satellite services to potential growth markets including media, aviation and
maritime. With our expert, a former Corporate Strategy executive at Intelsat, we will discuss traction that Intelsat is seeing with its Epic constellation, current pricing dynamics and demand growth with a particular focus on mobility and enterprise segments.
